On that day, the brides just want to be beautiful, different, unique. For this special day the dresses must be up to the dream. But is it a reason to spend so much money for a polyester dress, impersonal : the same dress as thousand ones ?

Every year, the trend for sustainable weddings is getting stronger and the supply of “fair” or “ethical” dresses is booming. A lot of designers create poetical dresses made with natural or recycled materials, unique pieces : an extraordinary luxury.

Among them, Aranel has been creating for some years now : made-to-measure dresses with natural materials, Human and Eco-friendly.

Farther, we love the creations of Samant Chauhan, in India. Once more, the designer uses only natural materials like silk and linen. He keeps the colour as it is : all the amazing shades of nude, cream, beige… Every dress shows the local know-how for weaving, embroideries, fold sewing… On some dresses, we can see an empty silkworm cocoon set in the fabric.  

Instead of buying your dress, why don’t you ask to a dressmaker to create it especially for you with organic fabric ? Colourful cottons or silks on Azimuts will delight you.

We could not talk about eco-wedding dresses without mentioning the… disposable dress ! A British group of student in fashion and civil engineering from Sheffield Hallam University have created a dress made with substances close to those used for detergents, embedded in the fibers of the dress. The chemical composition of the dress allows to dissolve the cloth without any damage for environment.

After all, the most important on that day is to feel really comfortable and to make an impression…
